Eurodead came about , like many things in the GD-related universe, by a chance occurrence, a happy accident. Created and maintained by myself, Alan Thompson, the site has grown from humble beginnings in 1999, and seen steady growth ever since, reaching a peak in July/August 2003 when Ratdog came to the UK for the second time.. The membership of the Deadboard and the Yahoo Group Eurotraders is testament to this. Unfortunately (for the website anyway!) this period also coincided with many life changing events for me - I'd just started a new job, we'd just moved house, and were getting married - and I found myself with less and less time to keep the site going. To top it all off a hosting arrangement expired and the site was effectively "locked" for about 4 months, until December 2003. However, in switching webspace providers, much of the site was lost, and a hard drive failure (my first ever!!) meant there were no complete backups, just little bits here and there on cd-r. Fortunately I had backed up the Deadboard files and the links directory...

So, with the rebirth of Eurodead (the 4th incarnation of the site, for those who can remember that far back) I've decided to give the site a graphical overhaul and general streamlining so it should load quicker too. I'm also hoping to change the content, the way the site works and therefore the way in which people will use it. I'm a little apprehensive about trying this, because most of the successful ideas I've had have been blind luck, wheras the planned stuff usually falls flat on it's face. I 'm hoping that some of the regular ET members will be interested in contributing to the content of the site, particularly via blogs like that seen on the main page. Please if you're interested in becoming a contributor. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks Alan
